Hello, I’m Paul Ryan!
Father, husband, space enthusiast and business leader.
“Nothing is impossible. Miracles might just take a little longer.”
Over the years this is a phrase I have adopted & adapted. While I may believe miracles take a little longer, my wife will argue they take me a hell of a lot longer!
A Limerick native, following my studies at University of Limerick I lived in Dublin, Ireland & later in St. Louis, USA where my career as a software engineer & architect was built around communication & web technologies. On returning to Limerick, my efforts focused on service management, where today I’m the site lead and senior director of support at WP Engine Ireland, a leading WordPress technologies company.
I’ve returned to my native Ballybricken, where I live with my wonderful wife and our 3 amazing children.
In 2010 a series of events and a personal passion for space resulted in a meeting with Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden. That would shape a tremendous friendship between the two of us until Al’s passing on March 18th 2020. In 2014 I launched an event titled “Share, Learn, Inspire” which saw Al participate in a number of lectures, dinner event and an opportunity to meet with students around Limerick. It would not be his last visit to the area. Over the years over 1000 students in Limerick across primary & secondary education have had the opportunity to hear Al’s stories first hand and have a few questions of their own answered.
Now in 2020 I have reworked the otherwise dormant “Share, Learn, Inspire” website to share many more passions and insights. Who knows, perhaps fuelling another future event inspiring the generation of tomorrow.
Ad Astra!
